I personally do not like towny on the server, and there are many complaints about it. Here is a pol do decide if you guys think towny should be removed from the server or not. The final decision is clearly the admins choice though.

I think that towny is a total waste. You can only be in one town at a time and it can be confusing to use. We already has cuboid which is extremely easy to learn and use. Cuboid isn't perfect but it's much better than towny. Having both is simply overkill.

What is bad about towny? We are looking to make cuboid only available for those that aren't in towns just to protect their homes. Cuboid is a giant cube that doesn't always get your property while towny allows for instantaneous claiming and no hassle with having to reset your cube if god forbid you decide to make your home/town bigger.

Its much easier than cuboid but cuboid is good to have around for small tings

The only real reason i don't like towny is that people that have cuboid'd and towny'd there places have to go through the process of adding names twice. On top of that, I am dedicated to the WazaCastle as it is my home, however i would also like to go and help people in other towns. I was trying to help hiimtony remove his tress in Faraway town(even though i said i needed a tree farm and he offered his) and i couldn't help him because i was already part of a town. Sure i could have left the town i was in and asked to join it again later, but IMO that doesnt leave a good impression on the owner of the town.




Yeah Soft, you do have a really good point, and I like the idea of having Cuboid for only small things and towny for big. I guess what i really don't like is being apart of one town only, and this is not the place to be complaining about it, the real place is the Towny hey0 post found here:

See if people knew about towny they could have disabled the protect quite easily so you could have helped them then you enabled it after you were done.

Disabling protect could allow nayone to grief in that time. Adding someone temporarily to a cuboid is much safer.

I have to agree with you CAM, but all of the towns are also spread out, and due to our server being virtually "private" we do not have a problem with griefers, as far as i have seen. In the future yeah maybe but i have changed my mind, as Soft has pointed out that the town mayor can do

/town protect off

and turn off the protect. This clears up my main problem, until we get more popular and have people running all over the place.

Do you really think that people can't monitor their town during this period? I mean that's the owner's fault at that point.

This still requires the mayor to be online... I honestly plan to protect my city with cuboid alone at this point. I still think cuboid should be restricted though.

There's also mayor's assistants which have the same power as the mayor and can do this for you. I don't think you should be able to build in someone's town while the top people aren't online. It's a really simple way to monitor who's in your town and what they are doing.

which brings up cuboiding as well as townying. simply make coubids inside of the town, this way when the mayor is offline users can only edit certain areas. this also prevents the griefing of other's houses or whatever is in their town

Hmm... I think that sounds very effective. Simply keep the towny protect off and protect individual things inside the town with cuboids.
